Why Agape

We're made for connection.

Whatever you believe, deep down we're all looking for the same thing: people who know us, accept us and help us become better.

Real friendships don't just happen, especially as life gets busier. So Agape makes the space for them: regular nights, something to do together, and the chance to see the same faces again. You become like the people you spend time with, so we try to make those people good ones.

Agape was started by Christians who believe connection is a gift from God. You don't need to share that belief to belong here. Everyone is welcome, exactly as they are.

a·ga·pe(Greek) Selfless, unconditional love. The kind that shows up for people. That's what we're aiming for.

Good questions

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Most people do. A host will say hello when you arrive and introduce you to a table.

What if it's awkward?

The first five minutes usually are, for everyone. After that the activity does most of the work. Research also shows people consistently underestimate how much a stranger enjoyed talking to them, so it's probably going better than you think.

Is it safe to come on my own?

Yes. Every night is in a public venue and the hosts are there from start to finish. We don't tolerate anyone making others uncomfortable. If anything feels off, tell a host and we'll deal with it.

Is Agape religious?

Agape was started by Christians, and our faith is why we care so much about connection. But the nights are for everyone: games, food, music and good conversation. People of every faith and none are welcome, and nobody will ever be pressured to believe anything.

Do I need to be good at pottery, baking or cards?

No. Everything is for beginners and someone will show you what to do.

Who's it for?

Anyone looking for real friendships and people who help them grow. Most people who come are 18–35: students, graduates and people a few years into work.

What if I can't make it?

Tickets aren't refundable, but you can give yours to a friend. Message us on Instagram with their name.
